Write and send newsletters

 

Create a mailshot using Joomla’s configured editor, choose your mailing list, preview the message and send yourself a test. When it is ready, add it to the queue for delivery.

The scheduled Sender processes queued messages in batches, so you don’t need to send each batch manually.

Automatically announce articles

Notify subscribers when an article is first published or meaningfully updated in your chosen Joomla categories.

You choose whether to announce new publications, updates or both. Existing articles are recorded during initial setup without generating a flood of historical notifications. Scheduled articles become eligible after their publishing time.

Article notifications cover eligible publicly accessible content.

Send upcoming event digests

If your website uses Events Booking, MemberMailer can turn upcoming events into a scheduled email digest with event details, images and links.

Choose event categories and a period: today, the next seven days, the next fourteen days or the next calendar month.

For example, send a digest every Sunday featuring events over the next fourteen days. You can review generated drafts before queueing them, or enable automatic queueing for unattended delivery.

Events Booking is optional. Newsletters and article notifications work without it.

Simple subscriber management

  • Create separate mailing lists for different interests.

  • Let visitors subscribe through the MemberMailer signup module.

  • Confirm public signups by email before subscribing them.

  • Manage subscribers and list subscriptions in Joomla’s administrator area.

  • Include subscription-management and unsubscribe links in mailings.

  • Inspect queued recipients and delivery results.

Membership Pro is not required, and visitors do not need a Joomla user account to join a public mailing list.

What you need

  • Joomla 6 and PHP 8.3 or newer.

  • Working Joomla email settings—SMTP is recommended.

  • Joomla scheduled tasks and a reliable scheduler trigger, such as a server cron job, for automatic processing and delivery.

  • Events Booking installed if you want event digests.

MemberMailer sends through your configured mail provider. Your provider’s sending limits and charges still apply. Acceptance by the mail server does not guarantee inbox delivery. Setup Guide

Getting started

  1. Download and install the MemberMailer package using Joomla’s extension installer.

  2. Configure and test Joomla’s email settings.

  3. Create a mailing list and publish the signup module if you want visitors to subscribe.

  4. Choose your mailing method: write a newsletter, configure article notifications or set up an event digest.

  5. Test with your own addresses, then enable the required processing and Sender tasks.

The package includes the MemberMailer component, signup module, Sender task, Event Digest task and article-notification plugins.
